REGINA, SK – The Weyburn Red Wings clinched their playoff spot, while the Nipawin Hawks kept their post-season hopes alive on a dramatic Tuesday night.

Colin Doherty notched the winner for Weyburn 37 seconds after the Notre Dame Hounds completed their third-period rally from down two at Crescent Point Place, and Dazza Mitchell was terrific making 39 saves in the Wings’ 4-2 win. It was Weyburn’s sixth victory in a row, and ninth-straight unbeaten as they slipped ahead of the idle Kindersley Klippers into sixth place. They became the sixth club in the league earn a playoff berth.

Nipawin got a solid 34-save effort by Tyson Endall and kept their slim post-season hopes alive with the 5-2 victory in Yorkton. The defeat eliminates the Terriers from post-season contention. Artem Hrabovetski and Mark Lafleur led the way offensively with a goal and an assist apiece while Evan Forrest’s second-period tally stood up as the game-winner.
