HUMBOLDT, SK – It was a drama-packed night of Game 3s as three of the four went to overtime.
Shayne Tibbles scored 5:18 into the extra frame for the Klippers as Kindersley staved off elimination with a 3-2 victory over the Melfort Mustangs.
Cody Jaman made 29 stops in the victory.
In Battlefords, Liam Fitzgerald’s goal 12:39 into OT sealed the Weyburn Red Wings a 3-2 win over the North Stars, and a chance to take the series in Game 5 Saturday in Weyburn.
Weyburn captain Blake Betson has goals in three of the four, and points in all four contests in the series thus far.
The Flin Flon Bombers rallied from down two in the third period to force overtime with consecutive goals within 33 seconds, but Humboldt Broncos’ forward Kye Benoche roofed a pretty backhand at the 17:19-mark of the extra frame to even the series at two games apiece.
Home teams have won every game of this series.
Finally in Melville, David Coyle’s league-leading fourth goal of the post-season stood up as the game winner as the Yorkton Terriers edged the Millionaires 2-1, and pushed the Mils to the brink of elimination.
