Estevan Bruins 4 vs Melville Millionaires 1
The Estevan Bruins proved to be too much for the Millionaires on Tuesday night, defeating Melville for the fourth straight time this season.
This Mills opened the scoring in the first period with rookie Charles-Thomas Larochelle’s fourth goal of the year. However, it was all Bruins from there on out.
Bruins Captain Eric Houk scored a pair of goals including an empty-netter (3,4), while Mark Rumsey (13) and Olivier Pouliot (8) rounded out the four Bruins’ goals
Mills’ goalie, Jared Thompson was outstanding in the matchup, stopping 48 of Estevan’s 51 shots. Meanwhile Boston Bilous picked up his 10th win on the year, turning aside 20 of 21.
Battlefords North Stars 3 vs Kindersley Klippers 1
The North Stars picked up their second straight win on Tuesday, defeating Kindersley at home 3-1.
The shots were 32-30 for the North Stars with both Kindersley’s Matt Pesenti (29/32) and Battleford’s Kenyon Loewen (29/30) having standout games. The latter of which was playing his first career SJHL game and secured his first career win.
North Stars propelled to victory thanks to some secondary scoring by Zane Florence (4), Ethan Scriven (2), and Colby Bear (6), all rookies on the North Stars squad.
Kindersley’s lone goal was the first career SJHL goal from Max Kathol.
Weyburn Red Wings 4 (SO) vs Yorkton Terriers 3
The Weyburn Red Wing made it 3 for 3 for the home teams on Tuesday, defeating their Viterra division rival, the Yorkton Terriers in a shootout.
Braden Birnie (5), Beau Larson (1), and Cooper Chisholm (1) scored for the Red Wings in regulation. Larson’s being his first as a Wing, and Chisholm’s being his first career SJHL goal.
The Terriers countered with goals from JD Hall (3), Tyson Janzen (3), and Enrique Fontes (4).
Overtime solved nothing.
The shootout was by far the longest of the year with 10 shooters a side before, finally, Graham Skinner ended the marathon with a goal in the 10th round to secure the 4-3 win for the Red Wings.
Jackson Fellner was the much busier goaltender, stopping 44 of 47 for Weyburn. Kael DePape turned aside 19 of 22 for Yorkton.

La Ronge Ice Wolves 3 (OT) @ Melfort Mustangs (2)
The lone game on Wednesday was a big one for the Ice Wolves as the snapped their six game losing streak on the road over the Mustangs.
La Ronge scored the first two goals in just 2:19 of the first period. Brandon Della Paolera picked up his 5th, while defenseman Nate Looft scored his third of the season.
The Mustangs quickly countered with two goals of their own in the first period as well. Both goals were scored by Curtis Hammond, his 10th and 11th goals of the season.
The second and third period were scoreless, resulting in the game heading into overtime.
In the extra frame, Ice Wolves’ leading scorer Nolan Doell was the hero, netting his 10th goal of the year and picking up a big divisional win for La Ronge.
Dawson Smith got the start for the Wolves, stopping 33/35 shots. Joel Favreau picked up the loss, stopping 24/27.
