Weyburn Red Wings’ forward Max Monette has committed to the University of Waterloo in Ontario University Athletics of USports for next year.
Monette, 20, joined the Wings early in the 2022-23 campaign from the Canmore Eagles of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. In that span, he posted 72 points over 109 contests.
A native of Banff, AB, he attended Edge Prep School in Calgary in the CSSHL between 2018 and 2021.
Monette was named Weyburn’s captain last off-season, helping to guide them to a No. 6 seed in the post-season, the Wings’ best finish since 2015-16.
