Nov., 2024 SJHL Players of the Month

SGEU MVP of the Month: Mason Bueckert, La Ronge Ice Wolves

After a slow start to the season by Mason’s lofty standards, the Ice Wolves’ most dangerous forward has been a paragon of consistency in November. He had points in all but one of the Wolves’ nine games in the month, only one of which was on the power play, and La Ronge has just proven to be a tough out for absolutely everyone.
Month Stats: 9 GP, 7 G, 6 A, 13 PTS

Bourgault Forward of the Month: Keenan Ingram, Yorkton Terriers

The combination of Ingram with fellow former Weyburn Red Wing Carter Briltz in the middle has been unstoppable at times in November, and the big-shot winger has taken full advantage of his opportunity in this deep, talent-laden Terriers group. His 13 goals and five power-play goals are both third in the SJHL, and it is hard to imagine a more dangerous customer with the man advantage in the league than Keenan.
Month Stats: 8 GP, 6 G, 6 A, 12 PTS

SuperU Defenceman of the Month: Liam Hunks, Notre Dame Hounds

Nobody in the SJHL averaged more ice time than the Hounds captain in November, at a staggering 27:59 per game, and he has made the most of that time in all three zones, posting 11 points and also leading the league in plus-minus at +7. In his pair with Vinny Palmarin, Notre Dame boasts perhaps the best back-end combination in the league, and they have been a massive factor in the fact that the Hounds have been a much tougher out lately.
Month Stats: 10 GP, 5 G, 6 A, 11 PTS

Sasktel Goalie of the Month: Matthew Kieper, Flin Flon Bombers

The sense during the more challenging, early months of the year for the Bombers is that they would be fine if they could sort out their goaltending; well, mission accomplished. Flin Flon has won seven in a row, every game in November, and do not look like they are slowing down; the WHL-veteran Kieper’s consistency is a huge reason for all of that.
Month Stats: 5 starts, 5-0-0-0 record, 2.17 GAA, .936 SV%

IKS Media Rookie of the Month: Madden Mulawka, Melfort Mustangs

In a year heralded for its suffocating parity in the SJHL, the Melfort Mustangs are the outlier. As November turns to December, the defending champs have opened a seven-point gap in first place, and their brilliant one-two punch in the net with young Mulawka and the 19-year-old Kristian Coombs is just one of many factors in that equation. It appears that Coach Trevor Blevins trusts both equally.
Month Stats: 4 starts, 4-0-0-0 record, 1.52 GAA, .938 SV%

Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Month: Raiden Zacharias, Melville Millionaires (from Saskatoon, Sask)

It should not be a big coincidence that the Mils had a bit of a slide after Zacharias went to the WHL, but they have figured it out in the last few contests since his return. The young pure finisher uses his intelligence to produce offensively as well as anyone in the SJHL and has formed a terrific partnership on the wing with veteran Raine Hodge down the middle.
Month Stats: 9 GP, 7 G, 5 A, 12 PTS
