REGINA, SK – Wednesday night in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League saw three tight games yield only one move in the standings.
The Melfort Mustangs scored three times in the last 10 minutes to pull past Estevan at the Northern Lights Palace to move one point ahead of the idle Humboldt Broncos for third place.
Meanwhile, at the Westland Arena the Yorkton Terriers remained relevant in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot by way of a third-period rally that was capped off by red hot forward Jeff Hammond’s overtime winner in a 4-3 victory vs. Kindersley.
Finally, the Weyburn Red Wings pushed their unbeaten streak to six when captain Max Monette scored in the extra frame to take a massive extra point away from the Hawks at the Centennial Arena in Nipawin.
