HOUNDS ACQUIRE PROSPECTS PACKET, PINEL FROM KLIPPERS

The Notre Dame Hounds have acquired the SJHL playing rights to 2007-born prospects Kai Packet, and Jonah Pinel from the Kindersley Klippers, in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in the 2008-portion of the 2024 SJHL Draft.

Packet, 17, hails from Lafleche, SK, and spent last season with the Swift Current Legionnaires U18AAA. A smooth-skating defenceman, he posted five points in 44 regular-season games, and added an assist in eight post-season contests. The Klippers originally selected him in the third round, 33rd overall in the 2023 SJHL Draft.

Pinel, 16, is a power forward from Pilot Butte, SK, and he scored 15 goals and added 10 assists in 37 regular-season games for the Moose Jaw Warriors U18AAAs a year ago. In four playoff games, he added a further four points.

He was originally selected by the Klippers in the 4th round, 37th overall in the 2023 SJHL Draft.

The pick sent to Kindersley is the 25th overall selection in the 2008 portion of the 2024 SJHL Draft.
