Bruins hire Martinson as new broadcaster

The Estevan Bruins have their new voice.

Marty Martinson has been hired as the club’s Play-by-Play voice and marketing operations director.

Martinson, of Regina, has been the voice of the Battlefords North Stars on 1050 CJNB and FloHockey for the past six years.

“I could not be more excited to join the Estevan Bruins,” he said to the Estevan Bruins social media.

“A staple of junior hockey in southern Saskatchewan with an incredibly passionate fan base, I look forward to getting started. I want to say a huge thank-you to Riley, Aaron, Jason, Drew, the board, and the Bruins’ organization for the opportunity!”

Martinson was the voice of the Stars during some of the club’s best years in history. Under his eye, the Stars won championships in 2019 and 2023 and made the National Junior A championship final in that ’23 season.
