The Bombers are happy to announce that ‘03 Bomber Defenceman, Anthony Bax, has committed to continue his hockey and academic career at Utica University (NCAA D3) in Utica, New York!
Bax is a Parkhill, Ontario product who joined the Bombers this past season after being traded from the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL. Bax started his junior career with the Oakville Blades of the OJHL in 2019/20, where he played in 5 games. He then spent time in the USPHL Premier Division with the Elmira Junior Enforcers during the 2020/21 season, playing in 12 games, he notched 4 goals and 6 assists. In the 2021/22 season, Bax was back in the OJHL with the Collingswood Blues, where he played in 26 games before going to the Connecticut Jr. Rangers of USPHL NCDC, where he played in 11 games. Bax joined the Dauphin Kings for the 2022/23 season, playing in 49 games, tallying 5 goals and 19 assists for 24 points. Before coming to the Bombers this past season, Bax was 2nd in scoring for defenceman in the MJHL with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 30 games. While with the Bombers, Bax had 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points in 19 games during the regular season, along with 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 13 games during the playoffs.
The Utica University Pioneers are a NCAA Division 3 program, who compete in the United College Hockey Conference. The Pioneers finished this past season #1 in their Conference with a record of 24-3-3 and won the UCHC Championship. They also made it all the way to the Semi-Finals of the NCAA D3 Championship where they lost 3-1 to Hobart, the eventual National Champions.
