FACES IN THE GLASS

Matt Weninger
Flin Flon Bombers
1989 G Matt Weninger (Lethbridge AB) set an SJHL rookie record two seasons ago for most consecutive minutes played without allowing a goal.  As of February 1st, Weninger had 8 career shutouts, which puts him two away from tying the league standard for most career shutouts in the SJHL.

Former Humboldt Broncos goalie Taylor Nelson is having a solid season at Ferris State as a Sophomore.  As of February 1st, Nelson was 9-2-and-2, 2.36, .920.  Nelson left the SJHL holding league records in shutouts for a season (7), career shutouts (10), most shutouts in one playoff year (6), most consecutive minutes played without allowing a goal (regular season), and most consecutive minutes played without allowing a goal (playoffs).

AJ Whiffen
Weyburn Red Wings
1989 G AJ Whiffen (Grand Falls Windsor NF) is the SJHL Goaltender Of The Month for January, marking the second straight month he has won this award.  Whiffen is a picture of consistency, going 18-3-and-3 and allowing more than three goals in a game only three times all season.  He put together a run of 9-1, 1.48, .944 during the combined months of December and January.
